WHAT: Summer Nature Outing #2 — Highbanks Creeking
WHEN: Wednesday, 7/11 — 10:00a - 1:00p
WHERE: 9466 Columbus Pike (US Rt. 23N), Lewis Center
MEETING LOCATION: Big Meadow Picnic Area — parking lot, shelter, playground
WEATHER: to be announced in the reminder email
BRING: Your swimsuits, water shoes, floaties for young children (in case water levels are higher than usual), buckets, nets, magnifying glasses, and any other observation tools you may want! And don't forget your nature journaling supplies and a packed lunch for your family! Some families bring an extra change of clothes (just in case) to our Nature Outings!
DETAILS: Let's go creeking! We'll hike about 1/4 mile back to an opening in the woods and get down to business. Because of the cleanliness of the Olentangy River there are lots of fun, fresh-water critters to find and observe in the shallow creek bed (i.e., tadpoles, crawdads, minnows, and clams)!
POLICY REMINDER: Families must stay together — parents are responsible for their own their children at all times. Thanks in advance for understanding.
RSVP: This is very important! We need to know exactly who is coming so we are sure to not leave anyone behind or spend time waiting for a family that isn't coming! PLEASE send a quick email to centralohiowildandfree@gmail.com or respond to the Facebook event and let us know if your family is planning on coming!
